10.6.x.5 PDA Code Entry
Previous Topic  Next Topic

The PDA Code Entry program is used to setup your PDA Codes. The Entry fields are as follows:

PDA Code : LOC2  Enter in a User or Location code (JOE or LOC2)

1. PDA Type : PDE Palm Data Entry PALM PDA

2. Location : 2 XXX, Inc Loc2

Leave blank to default to the Customer On-Line Default Location, then if that is blank the system will use the Customer Servicing Location setup in "Customer Entry" in ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE (6.1.1 field 15). It is recommended that you leave this field blank unless the PDA will actually represent an inventory stocking location like a mobile truck.

3. Export Path Name

C:\PROGRA~1\PALM\LOC2\PALMDATAENTRY

4. Import Path Name

C:\PROGRA~1\PALM\PALMDATAENTRY

NOTE: If setting up on the Main Server and when pathway includes a sub-directory with a name greater than 8 characters you must substitute using DOS naming. For example: C:\Program Files\Palm would translate to C:\Progra~1\Palm.

5. Enable Order Templates : Enter <Y> to Enable Order Templates for this PDA code. Enter <N> or leave blank to disable this feature. Order Templates are created in the Customer Stock Qty program.

6. Enable Price Overrides : Enter <Y> to Enable Price Overrides for this PDA code. Enter <N> or leave blank to disable this feature. There is a field in the PDA for Price OR. If a price is entered into that field and this option is set to <Y> then the price will be taken. Otherwise, the price will be ignored when the Order is uploaded into the system.

7. Prevent QOH from being Exported : Enter <Y> to Prevent Quantity on Hand from Exporting to the PDA. Enter <N> or leave blank to allow the Quantity on Hand to go to the PDA.

8. Allow <NS> and 0 Parts in Template : Enter <Y> to Allow <NS> and Zero (0) Parts in the Template. Enter <N> or leave blank to Prevent <NS> and Zero (0) Parts in the Template.

9. Enable Stock Qty and Bin Loc Overrides: Enter <Y> to Enable Stock Qty and Bin Location Override on this PDA code. Enter <N> or leave blank to disable this feature. If the Stock Qty or Bin Location field exists and this option is set to <Y>, then the data will be taken. Otherwise, the data will be ignored when the Order is uploaded into the system.

10. Set Entry Sequence by DateTime Entered: Enter <Y> to Set the Order Entry Sequence by the Date and Time the Line Item was Entered on the PDA. Enter <N> or leave blank to disable this feature.

NOTE - Once PDA codes are entered and download paths are correct, the export files for Customers in "Create Customer Export File" (10.6.x.7) and Inventory in "Create Inventory Export File" (10.6.x.8) need to be created. These files will download into the appropriate folder on the PDA server and will be uploaded on the next HotSync to the Palm OS device.
