Turn on the Palm OS device, make sure it is hooked up properly
Click on the HotSync then Local then click on down arrow (under the HotSync icon) and pick Cradle/Cable
Add Name in Palm Desktop and Install PDE
Open the Palm Desktop, then on the upper right side, click on down arrow next to the USER.
Click on Edit User then New, type in user name and click OK and click Ok again.
Open the Palm Desktop, then on the right side, click on the Install icon
Click Add, it should automatically go to Add-On folder in Program Files\Palm
Select three files ($ApplDef , $FileDef and PDE.Prc), click Open, then Done, then OK
Do a HotSync on the Palm OS device to load
Setup Network Modem HotSync for Remote Download
Open Palm OS device
Click HotSync icon then Modem
Click HotSync > Options >Modem Sync Prefs> click on Network, then click OK.
Click HotSync>Options>LANSync Prefs> click on Local HotSync, then click OK (might already be there that is fine)
Click HotSync>Options>Primary PC Setup> under Primary PC Address line, type in 10.1.1.100 (or whatever that IP Address is for the Palm Server) then click OK
Click HotSync>Options>Conduit Setup> uncheck everything except for DataEntry and Hotsync then click OK
Click HotSync>Options>Connection Setup> click on Standard Modem then Edit… then Details… and make sure that Init String is ATZ then click OK, OK and Done
Below the HotSync icon, click on AT&T Worldnet then click Service, pick Windows RAS, then type in Administrator as User Name, then click on Prompt and type in the password, Connection will be Standard Modem then type in phone # PDA Server.
While still in the above screen, click on Details… and make sure that Connection type is set to PPP, IP Address is Automatic then click OK then Done on the next screen.
Test HotSync
Make sure the phone line connected to the modem on PDA Server
Connect the PalmModem to bottom of the Palm OS device and plug in phone line
Click on the HotSync icon on the Palm or push the HotSync button on the modem
