Overview
The CDN process provides an apparent direct link between the Body Shop or PPG Central user and the Jobber or Warehouse Distributed. It provides the Jobber or WD an opportunity to eliminate counter person error by having an order parse directly into there system. If a location is set up to use CDN an alert will be displayed at the Point of Sale screen and the CDN order can be pulled up as a quote. All the Jobber or WD has to do is finalize the ticket and deliver it to the Body Shop or PPG Central user. The diagram below provides a simple view of how this process works.
The process consists of the Body Shop or PPG Central user completing an order online on the PPG Central web interface. When the order is submitted PPG parse the order out of their PPG Central system and send it via the internet in the international language of XML to us at Perfection Software. The Jobber or WD has a unique customer number assigned by PPG. When Perfection Software receives the order it is sent to the customer with the matching customer ID. The PPG part numbers, units and pack sizes are then automatically mapped to the Jobber/WD’s within their system. At which point the location set up for CDN orders will receive an alert telling them there is an order waiting in Point of Sale. The Jobber/WD pulls up the order, fills it and delivers it to the end user. When the order is either finalized or posted (optional) a confirmation is then sent back to Perfection Software and dispatched to PPG. PPG Central is then updated with the information for the end user to see. PPG then reimburses the Jobber/WD for the order.
