Instructions for DUP Price Update
Previous Topic  Next Topic

For May 1, 2005 -  Per DuPont, the LH in part numbers 501H-LH through 590H-LH have been superceded by 501H through 590H.   Example:   501H-LH is now 501H.

For July 1, 2003 - Auto Auction and National Fleet Pricing are now available on the Price Update. After answering  <Y> (recommended) to the Error List Report prompts, the following prompts will appear:

Do you want to update Auto Auction and National Fleet: (If you want the pricing type <Y>  <ENTER>)

Enter Auto Auction Price Code: (Type in the price code that you use for Auto Auction Pricing)

Enter National Fleet Price Code: (Type in the price code that you use for National Fleet Pricing)

For July 1, 2003 N/A Pricing - There are quite a few part numbers with N/A pricing which indicates that prices are Not Available.  Those items will print out on the Error List Report as:  N/A Prices are N/A NOT UPDATED. You will need to do a mark-up from Jobber Cost for your Selling Prices.

For 1999 - As you probably know by now, in 1999 the Nason Part numbers were merged with the DuPont Part numbers.  This has introduced some new units of measure, and may be a little confusing.  DuPont has indicated that the size S1/4 is in fact the same as S4, or short-filled quart.  To be consistent, you may want to assign them both the same Perfection Software unit of measure.  Since S4 was used last year, the program will default to the unit of measure used last year for S4 (use the same one for S1/4). On the 2000 price update there were also quite a few part numbers beginning with “E”,”M” and “V” that were not updated by DuPont for some reason. This may cause your reports to be a little longer than usual. ***On the 2001 price update they have now updated those same part numbers beginning with “E”, “M” and “V”.*** PLEASE RUN THE REPORTS AND REVIEW THEM BEFORE ACTIVATING.

The price update disk must be loaded at the SERVER.

The program to use to load this price update is called Load Perfection Price Update.  This would be located in the Markup Prices Menu (5.6.2.2).  Follow the on screen instructions. We strongly suggest loading this disk upon receipt, as prices will not be affected until you activate them.  This will help eliminate any possible last minute problems with the disk itself.

*Once you get to the field where it asks for the MFR Code BE SURE to remove the disk. If you do not remove the disk and have to reboot the system, the system will not restart.

  1. Mfr Code should be DUP.

  1. Effective Date: Be sure to pick an effective date that is not already in use for price updates.  To accept the current date, just press <ENTER>.

  1. Jobber Cost Code (98): Enter in your Replacement Cost Code, usually 98.

  1. Shop Code: Enter in your Price Code for the Shop price, usually Price Code 5 = Shop/Refinisher.

  1. Fleet  "CM" Price Code: Enter in your Price Code for the Fleet price, usually Price Code 7 = Fleet.

  1. Add Parts NOT on File?:  To add parts that are in the DuPont Update but not in your Inventory,  enter a <Y> press <ENTER>.

NOTE:  This program will not modify existing part numbers setup.  It will only update the price.

If you do not want to add the new part numbers, enter a <N> and press <ENTER>.

  1. Add units Not on file: If you want to add those units of measure that are on the disk for part numbers that exist in your database,  enter <Y> and press <ENTER>.

NOTE:  If you answer <Y> to #6 above, ALL units will be added to NEW part numbers, regardless of whether you answer <Y> or <N> to this question.  This option applies only to those parts that are in your database, but missing one or more units of measure.  If there are already 4 units of measure on file, the new unit will not be added.

*** WARNING ***     When Adding Units Of Measure     *** WARNING ***

If you have a part number set up with EACH and SLEEVE for example, and the disk has the item as ROLL and SLEEVE, you will end up with a part number with EACH, ROLL, and SLEEVE.  Otherwise, this is a helpful option to add new sizes introduced by the MFR.

  1. Unit of Measure: The Mfr Unit on the left is what DuPont uses.  The "Your Unit of Measure" on the right is what your Unit of Measure is.  Make corrections to the preset Unit of Measure to match what is in your system.  (For example: If you use GAL for gallon, change the GALLON to GAL.)  Continue down the list by pressing <ENTER>.

At Enter Selection, enter a C to convert the update information.

If you want a report of items that are not on file (in the update but not in your inventory file), enter <Y> at the prompt, and press <ENTER>.

If you want a report of items in your inventory that did NOT get updated, enter <Y> at the prompt, and press <ENTER>.

NOTE:  The reports will be long.  It is highly recommended that both reports be run.

NOTE:  $0.00 costs/prices will NOT be updated.

NOTE:  An Error List will automatically be generated, including newly added part numbers (if chosen to add).

This update loads the information into the Preload file in "Markup Prices" in Inventory.  At this point the update acts as if you have manually typed in the new prices into Preload Prices.  To review the list, you may print a "Preload Prices Report" (5.6.2.4) by the effective date.

You MUST Activate Preload Prices (5.6.2.5) to have the new prices take effect.  At the Activation DO NOT Maintain GP Structure.  You should use the default of N at this question.

Please make a note of any new Units of Measure of Part Numbers and manually add them to your Inventory.  Make a note of any new tints or mix part numbers and manually add them to your Components & End Products

*If doing additional markups off of the newly activated costs or prices... be sure to use a different effective date.

*BE SURE TO REMOVE THE DISK AS SOON AS YOU ARE FINISHED LOADING THE PRICE UPDATE. IF YOU FORGET AND NEED TO REBOOT THE SYSTEM IT WILL NOT BOOT.
