You may Switch the Mode from anywhere in Line Item Entry (field 6).
To switch the mode, enter an <M> in the first position anywhere on the line and press <ENTER>.
There are five possible modes with modes 2 through 4 being designed to be used with a bar code scanner:
0 = Slow Mode
1 = Fast Mode (This is the usual mode)
2 = On new line items, Quantity 1 default and start at part number field
3 = Scan Entry Mode and consolidate same parts on one line
4 = Scan Entry Mode and do not consolidate
Note: If using Fast Mode 0, the Fast Mode always resets to 1 when going back into line item entry. This can be overridden in TCL by manually creating a MASTER file entry called HOLD.FAST.MODE.ZERO. Just enter a <Y> in attribute 1 and Fast Mode 0 will now be retained like the other Fast Modes.
The Current Mode is displayed in the help at the bottom next to the <M>=Mode help. In fast mode the Quantity Shipped, Price, and Tax fields are automatically entered and the cursor does not stop at the entries. Use Mode 3 when you want to consolidate everything together on the order. Quantity Special pricing will be optimized. Use Mode 4 when you want individual line items for every scanned item. If you use the <C> to consolidate after scanning it defeats the purpose of this mode so be sure to use the <A> to add on when using Mode 4. Invalid items and Zero Quantity items will not be added to the order.
When using the <Insert> key in Scan Entry the following menu of options will be displayed:
1. Enter Part Number into Scan Entry.
2. Enter Bar Code for part.
3. Print Bar Code Label for part.
Enter Selection:
Option 1 is used to enter a part number into the Scan Entry without having to scan a bar code.
Option 2 is used to go into Bar Code Entry (5.1.8.1) for the current part number.
Option 3 is used to go into Print a Bar Code Label (5.1.8.3.x) for the current part number. The program will ask for what type of label to print (Oki, HP or Zebra) and then go into the appropriate print program.
There is a password setup available for Option 2. This is set up in "Inventory Setup" in SYSTEM MANAGEMENT (10.2.4.2 field 25. Scan Entry Bar Code Password, page 2).
