6.7.1 Calculate Service Charges
Previous Topic  Next Topic

This section is used for calculating the Service Charges. The calculation will be taken from the "Service Charge Percentage Rate" (6.7.6). If a Service Charge has already been calculated for the current period, a warning message will be displayed. You may calculate a Service Charge multiple times in the same period.

The Service Charges may be calculated for a specific Location or Region.

The Date Entered is the Reference Date that will appear on the Statement.

The calculation of Service Charges uses the Statement Date as the Reference Aging Date to determine if an item should be Service Charged. The Service Charge will age 30 days from this date. You have an option to change this date. This is very helpful if you want Service Charges to be calculated only on those items that are 45 days or older, rather than 30 days.

You may Calculate the Service Charges by Billing Periods. Leave blank to calculate for ALL Billing Periods.

To calculate the service charges, enter a <C> and press <ENTER>. The Customers name and amount of Service Charge will be displayed as the calculation is taking place.

When a Service Charge is calculated and it is less than $0.005, the program will round the Service charge down to $0.00 and then ultimately not create a Service Charge Entry.
