5.1.9 Goup Codes
Previous Topic  Next Topic

Group Codes are used to categorize inventory in any way as defined by the user. These codes may be used to limit reports and Customer Special Pricing by Manufacturer line. There are five positions available for the Group Code. It is not necessary to use all five positions.

Example of setting up Groups Codes (using PPG):

Level 1

Level 2

Level 3

M=Mixed Paint

0=Delstar

0=No Suffix

F=Factory Pack

1=Deltron

1=SC Suffix

S=Staples

2=Duracryl

2=H Suffix

The Group Codes would then be set up as follows:  M00 = Mixed Paint, Delstar with No Suffix; M01 = Mixed Paint, Delstar with SC Suffix; etc...; F00 = Factory Pack, Delstar with No Suffix; etc...; S = Staples.

You may then look up any level of the Group Code by using the pattern  match. This is available in any report asking for Group Codes.

You can choose a Group Code through a Pattern Match using the <*>. Examples of pattern matches are:  12* = all codes starting with 12; *3* = all codes with 3 in the second position; **1 = all codes with 1 in the last position. If a blank is in any position, the system will search for a blank in that position, (ex: 3* = all group codes with 3 in the first position and nothing in the third position). Type in the Inventory Group Code Pattern Match and press <ENTER>.
