Typically, a Receiving Scan Entry will represent a Purchase Order receiving event (product physically received) but a Purchase Order is not mandatory. If a Purchase Order is not used then a Location must be entered. Multiple users can be working on the same receiving at the same time (multiple ports, users and scanners required). You must create a separate Receiving Scan Entry and then post the multiple entries at the same time. This program will allow Scan Entry similar to “POS Order Entry” in POINT OF SALE (1.1) Mode 3. Scan mode "R" will display in the Scan Entry highlight bar and items can only be <A>dded to the Receiving.
The <Insert> key will bring up a menu of the following options:
1. Enter Part Number into Scan Entry.
2. Enter Bar Code for part.
3. Print Bar Code Label for part.
Option 1 is used to enter a part number into the Scan Entry without having to scan a bar code.
Option 2 is used to go into Bar Code Entry (5.1.8.1) for the current part number.
Option 3 is used to go into Print a Bar Code Label (5.1.8.3.x) for the current part number. The program will ask for what type of label to print (Oki, HP or Zebra) and then go into the appropriate print program.
There is a password setup available for Option 2. This is setup in "Inventory Setup" in SYSTEM MANAGEMENT (10.2.4.2 field 25. Scan Entry Bar Code Password, page 2).
