10.2.8 Printer Setup
Previous Topic  Next Topic

The Printer Setup is used to set up printer numbers, descriptions, and control codes.

To get a list of printers, enter a <P> at the “Printer Number” field and press <ENTER>.

1. Description - Enter the description you are going to use for the printer. For example: Invoice Printer.

2. Printer Code descriptions will be displayed after a printer has been selected.

The Printer Control Codes are setup so the system will automatically use these codes when producing reports. The most important Control Codes are 10 and 17 CPI. By default, 17 CPI will be used. All form print programs use 10 CPI, or whatever CPI is appropriate. Reports that fit in 80-column will be at 10 CPI. Anything done from TCL will NOT use these control codes.

3. Bar Code Printer Type - Enter <O> for Okidata Turbo, <H> for HP Laserjet/PCL5 compatible, <Z> for Zebra or <I> for Intermec Printer Type.

This is currently being used in the WMS label print, and some invoice print programs to print a bar code representation of the order number and ship to customer number. It will only print if this setup is made for the printer.

If using INVOICE.PRINT.BLANK use Type <O> and <H> for the printer type.

Note:  Custom programming is required to add bar code printing to invoice print programs.

4. Number of Copies - Enter the Number of Copies to print if more than one copy is needed to print. This entry will not work for Slave printing. Use this setting to print multiple copies of a print job if the Windows spooler setting for multiple copies does not work.

Note: This function can print multiple copies of all Point of Sale Transaction Types, however, it will not work for reports.
