  1. Press <CNTL><W> to enter into the module. It will prompt you for a user code.

  1. Enter your user code or ADMIN if this is the first time using the module.  The default password for ADMIN is “admin” which may be changed once in the program.  (Only administrators can create other users and groups.)

  1. After you are logged into the module, you will see a list of messages, if in fact, you have any messages at all.  Messages marked with an “N” are NEW messages.  Messages with no identifier are old messages already read.

  1. At the lower left of the screen, across the highlighted bar, you will have an indicator that counts the number of messages currently in the box you are looking in.   The default box you enter into is the INBOX.

  1. While your cursor is blinking next to a given message in the list, you can press <V> or press <ENTER> to View the message.

  1. The message being viewed will display the recipient, the sender, the time and date the message was created, and the body of the message itself.

  1. The following actions can be used here: <D>elete, <F>orward, <M>ove, <P>rint, <R>eply, <ENTER> to continue <ESC>, <\>, <Up Arr>, <Dw Arr>, <Pg Up>, <Pg Dw> to delete the message you would press <D>. To forward the message to another person you would press <F>. To move the letter to another folder you would press <M>. To print the message you would press <P>. To reply to the sender you would press <R> (and then type the response.)  If you hit <ENTER> then you are taken back to the previous screen where your list of messages are kept in the INBOX.   If the message you are reading is longer than the page will allow, you can scroll through the message by using the up and down arrows.

  1. On the main screen, you can use the following options: <ENTER>/<V>iew, <S>end, <D>elete, <F>orward, <M>ove, <P>rint, <R>eply, F<I>nd, <SPACE> to Select, <ESC>, <\> to send a new message. Press <S> and then enter the name of the recipient, and the subject.  After the body of the text has been entered, you can do the following: <S>end Mail, <E>xit & save, <A>bort, <P>rint, <ENTER> to continue.  If you press <ENTER> then you will appear back on the last line of the body of the text.  Press <E> to save the draft and then work on it later.  Aborting the email will delete it.  You can also print it out to keep a hard copy (something you can do with any email, even those sent to you by another.)

  1. From the main INBOX screen, use the <SPACE BAR> select an email by highlighting it.  This is useful when you desire to select multiple emails to move them into another folder.  Use the arrow keys, select the emails with the <SPACE BAR> and then press <M> to move them into the desired folder.  When you move them, you will view your list of folders (if you have created them).  Here you can press <ENTER> to move the email from the INBOX screen to a desired folder.   In this screen, you can also create new folders, delete folders, or rename folders.  There is also an option to <R>ebuild the folder list in case the message count in each folder (which appears to the right) is incorrect.  Message counts tell you how many messages reside in the folder.  Press <ESC> to return to the INBOX screen.

  1. If there are no messages in the INBOX screen, and you press <V> to view, the system thinks you are going to send a new email (since there is nothing else to do on this screen.)

  1. If you need to find a particular email in your list (in case it has grown somewhat large) press <F> for the FIND option.  Here you can enter the string to locate a particular email message by the text.  Enter the text and the program will find the email and prompt you to accept it.  If you press <ENTER> to continue, then it looks for the text again through the rest of the list.

  1. Whenever you delete a folder, or message the program prompts you to confirm your deletion of the item.

  1. When you log in as ADMIN, you can create USERS and GROUPS. Press <C> to create new users. This will allow you to enter their user name, full name, password (if desired) and an option to Send Message to Screen on New Messages (Y/N).  You can leave the password blank by pressing <ENTER> or you can enter a password to be saved.  A line of asterisks will appear next to the name that reminds the administrator that the user has a password.  After the user has been entered, you can use your up and down arrows to select a user then use press <ENTER> to edit the name or password of the user.  If you select a user then press <D> to delete the user, all their messages are also deleted form the system.  You can also select a use and then use the <R> option to rename the user.  Press <ESC> to return to the INBOX screen.

  1. Use the <G> option to create groups.  Groups are selected users that which are “grouped” together under a group name.  This way if a message needs to be sent to the entire accounting department, you will not have to create six messages, but one message to that group.  Press <C> to create the group and assign a group name.  After the group name is entered, you can enter a longer description for the group.  For example, the group may be called AD but the description is “The Accounting Department.”  After the name and description are entered, a list of those users, which have been previously entered into the system, appears.  You can then use the up and down arrows and then the <SPACE BAR> to select users from the list for that group.  (The highlighted line indicates that user is selected for the group.)  Press <ESC> to save the list and return back to the list of groups.   The group can be edited at any time so that others may be added or removed from the group.  This is done by pressing <E> to edit the group. Press <SPACE BAR> to select or deselect a user.

  1. To log out of ADMIN mode, simply press <ESC> to go back to the Main Menu.  You can then log back in with your own user name.

  1. Whenever email is sent to a recipient, a copy of that message is saved in the SENT items folder which may be accessed and searched at any time.  If you switch folders, and open the SENT items folder, then press <ESC> to exit the program, the next time you enter the program you will not be in the SENT items folder.  The default folder when entering the program is always the INBOX.
