In the event of an "Unavailable Port" error in the batch process history, these are some of the steps that can assist in fixing the port.
To test the port do the following:
:Z
user id (<cr>=SRS):
md id (<cr>=PM):
command:COUNT INV
line (<cr>=any available):829
(type in ctrl-n<cr> to enter null data)
input data:
[438] Job #1431216684B submitted.
[407] 68684 items counted out of 68684 items.
:
If the port is still having a problem you will get an error message instead of the number of items in the file.
To fix the port for the next backup :
Kill the underlying Linux Process ID:
LU
pib# pid.. user....... udate utime account....... mdate mtime location.....
829 1964 PM 04/18 00:39 PM 04/18 00:39 SHELL
The port doing the backup is 829. The PID in the above example it 1964. Type:
:KILL 1964
Now logoff and reset and reset the PIB (829) and it should be available for tonight's backup after the it is restarted. To restart the PIB (829) type:
!exec d3 –n pick0 829 –phantom & <enter>
