How to enter the User-Coldstart and make changes, or check for errors.

WARNING: Perfection Software takes no responsibility for any wrong changes or mistakes made to the USER-COLDSTART as a result of a user following this document.  All attempts to update or change the USER-COLDSTART are under the responsibility of the user.  It is always wise to make sure you have done a recent backup before editing the Coldstart.

To look at, update or make changes to the USER-COLDSTART, do the following:

  1. From the Main Menu type DM and hit ENTER.
  1. At the colon (:) type U MD USER-COLDSTART.
  1. The USER-COLDSTART will scroll up the screen and be number from 01-?? depending upon how many entries you have in the coldstart. 
  1. To simply scroll down through a large USER-COLDSTART, hold down the Control key and hit P to page down.  Each time you hit Control-P the page will scroll.
  1. If you try editing the USER-COLDSTART and make a mistake, and do not know how to correct the mistake, to exit WITHOUT SAVING hold down the Control key and hit the X key at the same time.  You may be asked at the top of the screen to “exit without saving” “y” or “n”, and you would answer “y”.
  1. To save any changes you have made to the USER-COLDSTART, hold down the Control key and hit X then F and you will end up at a colon. 
  1. To return to the Main Menu, type TO PM (or TO XX where XX is the account you are going back to) and hit ENTER.
