If you have more than one, 8 port card to install then use IRQ 3 settings on the second cards dip switches and so on.). If the board does not work on IRQ 2 then disable the BIOS for IRQ 3 and install the card on IRQ 3.

Once you verify that you are logged into DM type Config you should see a menu screen press number 1, look for serial drivers, this will show you the IRQ and address of  the 8 port card) to exit the menu press ENTER 2 times this will take you back to a colon).

Testing the 8 port card and serial ports

  1. Make sure the terminal is powered on.

  1. Press enter and on the terminal it should ask you to enter your PICK user id.

  1. If it does then continue testing the other 7 ports on the  8 port card and the 2 com ports on the back of the computer if you get no response from the terminal make sure your connection to the terminal is secure and the wire is plugged into the hoods good, also make sure you are using the correct wire for this type of connection it should be a straight through connection.

  1. If you do get a response but you cannot read it or it is garbage the BAUD rate is probably wrong either on the PICK server or on the terminal.

  1. To check the baud rate on the PICK server type LIST-LINES this will list all the ports on the server and their baud rates. To change the baud rate on the PICK server type SET-PORT_(enter port number here)(   _    Denotes a space ),9600

Example: If you wanted to change the baud rate for port 1 to 19200 you would type

      SET-PORT 1,19200

  1. To check the baud rate on the terminal( This is only for those customers on LINK MC2 terminals), press CTRL and SELECT at the same time. You will get a screen that says LINK MC2 to check the baud rate press the F4 key it should be set for 9600 if it is not then use the spacebar to change the rate. To save the changes and exit press F12 key 2 times. Make sure you set the port speed on the terminal to match the port speed of the server. You should get a response if not call Perfection Tech support.

*On Adds Terminal do a CRTL – SCROLL LOCK to get into the settings and use arrows to move over to baud rate and Space Bar <ENTER> to change. Do a Ctrl – Scroll Lock again to save.
