5.5.2 Calculate Popularity Codes
Previous Topic  Next Topic

This program is used to calculate the Popularity Codes for inventory based on sales history.

If Case Lot is set to Yes in "Inventory Entry” (5.1.1 field 6), the Popularity Code will be calculated for the highest Unit of Measure. All Units of Measure will be set to the same Popularity Code.

If Case Lot is set to No in "Inventory Entry” (5.1.1 field 6), the Popularity Code will be calculated on each Unit of Measure. The Units of Measure may have different Popularity Codes.

The beginning and ending periods defines the time period you wish the system to use the Quantity Sold to calculate the Popularity Codes.

You have the option to Update Pop Codes Immediately after running the calculation, which will appear after entering the criteria for calculating the Popularity Codes.

This allows you to calculate and update from within the calculation program.  If you respond with <Y>, to update immediately and are running the calculation for ALL locations, and the Setup option in Set Up Popularity Codes (5.5.1 field 7) for Consolidating all Locations is NOT set to <Y>, another prompt will appear to calculate each Location separately. Answering <Y> at this prompt will cause the calculation and update routine to execute as many times as there are locations. Each calculation will be based on the individual location's sales for each part. The screen will be updated as each location is processed.
