A 'normal' terminal/printer cable is used for the Zebra Stripe printer, with the standard 1-2-3-7 layout, as well as any jumpers required by the serial board or pod on the computer side.
The port should be set to 9600 baud (8,None,1), as with most printers.
There are dipswitches on the back of the printer near the cable. Looking at the back of the printer, they will either be to the left or the right. Set the switches to the following setup:
Switch Position
1 R
2 R
3 R
4 L
5 L
6 L
7 R
8 R
Important Note: Printer will not receive data while in test mode.
Follow the diagram located in the pocket inside the printer for installing labels and ribbon. Push both close to the wall of the printer, making sure the ribbon is centered across the labels where it comes out through the print head area.
You may need to adjust the print head screws (2) to push the head and ribbon closer to the labels if the printing is light or 'speckled'. The last printer we set up required 2-3 turns per side to get it right.
