Startup procedure for matching Customer Parts to Dupont parts for Electronic PO

Create a PCX Entry for the customer in question. For DuPont, use the User ID and Password given. Otherwise if we make up the User ID use part of the name state for the code (ex. ColorMast-MO for Colormaster in St. Louis, MO.)

DO NOT use the Conversion Functions in the Vendor Entry on the customers machine. Use the Conversion Functions in the PCX Entry on our machine here locally.

Download PUR.PGM COPY.EPO.PARTS if they do not have the latest version of this program. (8/6/2002). If it is a new customer you may have to modify the copy program to make sure the correct parts are copied because this program only copies Active parts.

Dupont, Standox, Nason and Spies Hecker

On the customers machine:

In the PM Account, Run COPY.EPO.PARTS. This will copy VENDOR, INVENTORY.COST and INVENTORY files to PS.PO.TRANSFER on PERFXP.

On PERFXP here locally:

Run CHECK.EPO.PARTS. This will generate a list of exceptions. In PCX.ENTRY create the necessary entries to minimize this report. Rerun CHECK.EPO.PARTS as many times as needed to generate the cross-reference. Once you are done print the final report and fax to the customer for further input.

Note: In PCX.ENTRY make sure CASE, ROLL and BOX are translated to EA if this customer needs it.

Standox

For every customer who sells standox you must enter the following conversion commands in PCX Entry field

7.

PREFIX STA 020 NOTNUM      (Be sure to use the customers actual Standox mfr code).

       DROPUNIT STA

Spies Hecker

On the our machine (PERFXP): logto PS.PO.TRANSFER

Run CHECK.EPO.PARTS.

This will create mismatches in DUP.CATALOG,ELIST.

On our machine (PERFXP): logto PS.PO.TRANSFER.

Create a file and copy DUP.CATALOG,ELIST to that file.

Modify MAKE.SP.PCX to use this new file.

Run MAKE.SP.PCX and manually cross-reference the data.

When setting up Spies Hecker Parts in the PCX files, used the Mfr Code prefix in the Cust Part Unit and/or Cust Part fields to distinguish Spies Hecker from Dupont parts. The conversion program will check with Mfr code then it will strip off the code and check without mfr code.

For troubleshooting and testing purposes

Look in PO.TRANSFER.DUP.RESULTS,CUST.ORIG.DOC for a copy of the XML doc before it is translated.
