Resync Distributed QOH
Previous Topic  Next Topic

Run this program on the machine that has the correct QOH.

You must do this process while no one is working on the system or else it will not work. Do every step in the process then you can start using the system again.

  1. Get everyone off all systems.

  1. From Loc 1 do all the transfers and verify that they have completed and converted.

  1. From the location that has the correct QOH go to TCL and type in the following: SHL RESYNC.QOH <Enter>. It will ask you what location # you want to capture changes for.

CAUTION!  Make sure you enter the location number that requires resyncing.

Example #1: If this is being run on Loc 2’s machine, Enter 2 for location #.  Loc 2's QOH will be captured into the PM.CHANGES file and transferred to the main location.

Example #2: If Main machine (Loc 1) has correct QOH for all locations, and the location 2 machine is incorrect, run the program on Location 1 machine and input location 2 to correct the location 2 machine for location 2 QOH.

  1. On the machine where the QOH is wrong, you must zero out the QOH with capturing turned off since the other machine changes that you just captured will only overwrite the QOH for the parts with QOH. Do this in 2.1 and change field 2 to be N instead of Y.

  1. On main machine, do a transfer with Loc 2 only.  This will transfer the changes and post them to the inventory for Loc 2.

  1. After verifying that location 2’s inventory on the main machine and remote machine match, do transfers to all locations.  If you are not able to transfer with all locs now then go into TCL and  type:

PREPARE.TRANSFER 0 1_    (retype for each location)

Otherwise, they will get error messages when using any program that affects any location’s QOH.  These errors are caused by the data structure of the resync items in PM.CHANGES.

  1. Turn capturing back on in PM.DIST 2.1

If after performing this procedure and your QOH still does not match, there may be deeper issues with your inventory part numbers. At this point the only option is to do a full resync.
