Customer On Line integration with Electronic PO

Discussion

Customer On-Line and Electronic PO can be setup so that one account can make POs and Electronically copy the POs into Customer On-Line then ultimately Point Of Sale in another account on the same machine. For example: lets says you have two accounts, PM1 and PM2 and these represent multiple businesses. If the customer wants to trade between those accounts, one account can be setup with Customer On-Line to accept incoming orders (PM1) and one account can be setup to send Electronic POs (PM2) out to the other account.

Setup

  1. Load PM.Programs Upgrade, then go into TCL in the PM1 account:

Type ADD.COL.MENU <enter>

  1. Create new folders under the Main Directory called POS.TRANSFER (ex. C:\POS.TRANSFER) then in that folder create a folder called RESULTS (ex. C:\POS.TRANSFER\RESULTS)

  1. Log into the account that is filling the orders (PM1) and go into TCL and create four files:

CF COL.TRANSFER 1 1009

CF COL.TRANSFER,LOG.XREF 1 101

CF COL.TRANSFER,PT.XREF 1 1009

CF COL.TRANSFER.LOG 1 101

  1. Now FTPICK the Dictionaries form PM.M to their system:

DICT COL.TRANSFER (source file)   * (source item)

DICT COL.TRANSFER,LOG.XREF (source file)   * (source item)

DICT COL.TRANSFER,PT.XREF (source file)   * (source item)

DICT COL.TRANSFER.LOG (source file)   * (source item)

  1. Go to the Customer Entry in PM1 and find the customer # for the second account (PM2).

  1. Go to the Customer On-Line menu (10.6.x) in PM1 and create Customer On-Line Code (10.6.x.1) with the second accounts name (ex. PM2) and type in customer #.

  1. Go to Customer On-Line Setup and enter in FILE in field#8 and the Local Directory Path in field #12 (ex. C:\POS.TRANSFER). Also you can enter in a printer for the quotes to print to in field #7 or send the message to an Admin Port in field #5.

  1. Next go into 10.6.x.12 and stop and start the process and in 10.6.x.11 check and see if the service is running. If it is not running, go to TCL and run manually by typing: SHL COL.TRANSFER.POS

  1. Now go into PM2 and into Vendor Entry and make sure a vendor exists to PM1. If it does not exist, create a new vendor as PM1. In field #19 type in FILE, field #25 type in the Local Directory Path (ex. C:\POS.TRANSFER) and in field #26 the location # and in Ship To (ex. PM2). This will correspond to Customer On-line Code setup in step 6.

* Now create a PO in the second account (PM2) for vendor PM1. Release the PO, bring it back up and do a <E> for Electronic PO and <S> to send. This should give you a message that it was sent successfully. Go into POS in PM1 and do a hold order lookup to view the quote.
