To make changed to IP Address or Host Name



To make changes to the network on a Linux box, open terminal session.


  1. Then type in SETUP<enter> and it opens up the Text Mode Setup Utility


  1. Then arrow down to Network Config>Edit DNS Config and you will be able to change the Host Name of the PC


  1. You can also arrow down to Network Config>Edit Devices and choose the eth0 (usually the network card) and manually change the IP Address, Subnet Mask & Gateway of the card


  1. Once done follow screen and save and exit


  1. Next you will need to type:  service  network  restart at root prompt
