<H> = Hold Order: Hold Order will downcount (or upcount if it is a Credit) inventory but does not affect the Customer’s Account. The cursor will be at “Order Number” for the next order. When a Hold Order is displayed, the Group Code will be updated with the latest Group Codes in the Inventory Files.
Type an <H> and press <ENTER> to put this order on Hold.
<H\> = Hold & Exit: Type an <H><\> and press <ENTER> to put this order on hold and exit to the "POS Order Entry" menu.
When placing a Debit Invoice (DI) or Transfer Invoice (TI) on Hold, all items will increment the Quantity on Hold (QHD) in the Inventory File. This amount may be viewed in “Inventory Entry” in INVENTORY (5.1.1) and “Inventory Inquiry” in POINT OF SALE (1.1 & 1.5) and PURCHASING (3.3.1).
If a part number has been superseded while an order is on Hold, the system will prompt for the superseded part number when the order is taken off Hold
There is an option to Control what customers are allowed to or are not allowed to purchase at Point of Sale. See "Customer Hold POS Entry" (2.2.2.9) in Sales Management for more details.
