Previous Topic  Next Topic

After entering the "Recurring Journal Entries Set Up" (8.2.1), you need to copy them over to the regular Journal Entries to activate them.

The Recurring Journal entry numbers and descriptions will be displayed. Use the <Up Arrow> and <Down Arrow> keys to line up with the entries you want. Type an asterisk <*> at the Journal Entry and press <ENTER> to select the Recurring Journal Entry. Repeat this step for each "Recurring Journal Entry" (8.2.1) you want in this batch.

Editing the Journal Entry allows you to select or unselect Journal Entries to be copied. Enter an <E> at the “Enter Selection” prompt and press <ENTER>.  You will now be at the Journal entries. To un-select the choice, press <DELETE> at the asterisk (*) and press <ENTER>. To select a Journal entry, type an asterisk <*> at the Journal Entry and press <ENTER>.

To copy your selected batch list of Recurring Journal entries to Journal entries, type a <C> to copy at the “Enter Selection” prompt and press <ENTER>.   Only those Journal Entries with an asterisk (*) will be copied.

If this batch of Recurring Journal Entries has already been posted this Accounting Period, there will be a warning message stating, "Journal Entry Already Copied in this Period. Is this Correct (Y/N)? _". If it is correct type a <Y> and press <ENTER>. After copying, just press <ENTER> to continue.

Once copied, a Journal Entry is created. You must still run "Post Journal Entries to Ledger" (8.1.3).
