5.1.11.3 Manufacturer Sort Code Entry
Previous Topic  Next Topic

Manufacturer Sort Codes are defined by you and used to group Manufacturers into categories. You may have three positions in a Sort Code. It is not necessary to use all three positions.

Example of Manufacturer Sort Codes:

Level 1

Level 2

Level 3

P=Paint Mfr

D=Qty Discount

D=Delivers

A=Adhesive Mfr

N=No Discounts

P=Pickup

You set up the Manufacturer Sort Codes as follows:

PDD = Paint Manufacturers who offer Quantity Discounts and Delivers;

PDP = Paint Mfrs who offer Quantity Discounts but must be picked up;

AND = Adhesive Manufacturers who do not offer discounts but deliver; etc…

You may lookup any level of the Sort Code by using the pattern match. This is available in any report asking for a Manufacturer Sort Code.

You can choose a Sort Code through a Pattern Match using the <*>. Examples of pattern matches are:  12* = all codes starting with 12; *3* = all codes with 3 in the second position; **1 = all codes with 1 in the last position. If a blank is in any position, the system will search for a blank in that position, (ex: 3* = all group codes with 3 in the first position and nothing in the third position). Type in the Manufacturer Sort Code Pattern Match and press <ENTER>.

If you want a report that lists ALL Sort, enter ***. This will list each Sort Code separately on the report in Alphanumeric order. This feature is only available in Inventory Reports.

Type in your user defined Manufacturer Sort Code of up to 3 characters and press <ENTER>. If that Sort Code already exists you will be at the "Enter Selection" prompt.

Type in a description for the Sort Code and press <ENTER>.
