10.6.x Hot Backup
Previous Topic  Next Topic

The concept behind the Hot Backup program is simple; all changes to specific data files in the main data account are backed up to another account, usually located on another machine. The user controls which specific data files are backed up. This is done through Hot Backup File Setup (10.6.x.2).  Delay Settings and other administrative functions are handled through Hot Backup Setup (10.6.x.1). A file verification report is available through Verify Files in Slave Account (10.6.x.3). If a particular file is not verifying, and there is no good reason found for it not to verify, there is an option to Force File Transfer to Slave Account (10.6.x.4), which effectively "resynchronizes" the file. Depending on which machine you are on (MASTER or SLAVE) use the appropriate selection, Display Hot Backup Status MASTER (10.6.x.5) or Display Hot Backup Status SLAVE (10.6.x.6), to display the status of the Hot Backup process.
